This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Pro: 4x4 to TE and 4x4 to SE Twins: 2x2 to TE and inside leverage at 4 yards vs a normal split 2 TE -- depends on what they do -- this week we check to a front that brings the stacked LB's on a C stunt and Spurs (Stingers) off the edge
I am assuming you guys play zone? We have done both, but we have a huge game coming up with a team that can really throw the ball and run it well too. I am afraid of playing zone because they are just pretty good at picking you apart. I feel better playing tight man free (man with a FS helping) and a little 3-deep to mix it up. Right now vs pro we have the stinger line up right on the TE and try to harass him on the line, then run with him if he goes on a route (pretty good stingers). The FS has contain on the 2 or 3 quick side on any run action, particularly boot and option (pitch). Any ideas to make this better? thanks - coach Faust
as long as your FS can give you run support to the TE side, I guess you are sound. The TE must be a player? We don't have a lot of teams that throw it, but we will mix in our Man, Man Free, and Zone blitzes to give them different looks.
We have rarely dropped 8. We do run a ton of a zone blitz from the hash -- take front to field, and bring boundary side Spur and Mike in the boundary side A gap. Our LB to the boundary side must wall #2 and play flats which is very feasible to do seeing how the ball is on the hash.
For the next two weeks, we are facing teams that are belly, down, and wk power oriented. We're not too worried about the belly. But what different types of things will you do to defend the down and power? Also, I noticed you mentioned running zone blitzes. What types of zone blitzes will you run?
