Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Your looking at load to the TE side with fb tracking the MLB to the FS with the EMLOS as the read for pitch. If the MLB comes inside the guard and tackle have a duece combo to him and FB goes to the FS. If he fights outside, the FB takes him and the last person to beat is the FS, one on one, but you still have made some good yards if you have made it that far.
Would you run the load option to death or is there other plays that could be paired with this. The team we play who runs this look is willing to sit in it all day.
Run it to death. Run it until they have to change and get out of their comfort zone. If you can get them out of their comfort zone you stand a good chance to do some real good things on offense. The key is to get them out of their comfort zone. Once you get them out of their comfort zone, then hit them with your base stuff. Also add a simple load play action pass, with the flanker running a quick slant and the split end running a back side post. The TE can stay in and block. The QB can run three steps down the line and drop. From there, he reads from the slant to the backside post. The FB can stay in and block and the TB can maintain pitch relationship. Once the QB reads the slant to the post and nothing is open, have the QB pitch it to the TB and he should get back close to the line of scrimmage. Or just simply throw it away.
