Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
This week we are facing a team that runs a 3-4 with a cover shell. They will rotate safeties and play games with outside backers, i.e. bring one drop one, bring both, etc. What is the best way to get them to show what coverage they are in and what are the best routes? I am concerned that our not so intelligent wr's will read the wrong coverages and run the wrong routes. The other team's defense is not very tallented but the scheme alone will slow things down for our blossoming passing game. All immediate help is very much appreciated. Thanks. Coach Cal

as coach stated, motions are best to discover coverages... to use a poker term, they will "tip their hand". Look for invert rotations, shifted over the top safeties, bumped OLB's, db's running with motion, and finally listen for check calls by the safeties... Try Trips alignments (motion to it) as well to determine if they want to stay in zone against you or if they think they can Man up with ya.. also,,, motioning sometimes kills an olb blitz due to coverage demands...
