Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
How would you go about slowing the flow of the MIke backer in a 4-3 defense vs. inside veer to the open side in pro. We are getting teams allowing the give read and sending will and mike to dive. The Ace combo cannot get off fast enough and openside tackle must take will.
I would run the freeze option....I know this may not be what are looking for...but if the Will and Mike are hammering your dive, they will certainly suck in on a midline fake and you could hit the perimeter rather nicely using the freeze option. pdow
Block the PST down on MIKE and "read the stack". The QB is looking for a cross charge and if he gets it, he will pull the ball and pitch off the End. The only time he leaves the ball is if both the OLB and the End step outside.
This has to be practiced, and also, your SE has to block the corner, so if they are in Cover 4, you don't want to run this to the open side unless you're in twins. Vs. Cov 2, the SE has to be able to handle the Corner.

I use Coach Campbell's "Bump Wall" scheme for this. It works well and takes care of Will. You still need to take care of Mike with the Ace Combo but if Will comes you will be pitching the ball and Mike should be out of the picture. Great scheme!!!
