Fellow Coaches,
I would appreciate any POSITIVE feedback concerning my frustration. I have a degree and have been coaching for almost 10 years and now would like to further my education as well as coaching career.
Started at the high school level, moved to a national under 22 league, was the VC 2 years ago for a top 5 team nationally who remains in the top 5, last year was a d line coach at the university level, have won 2 under 19 national championships with the provincial team (equivalent to state all-star) as an assistant as well as having coached players who have gone on to win national championships at the university level as well as earning conference rookie of the year honors.
I have had pretty much little to no success in drawing the attention of any coached in the US-is this because i am CANADIAN and coach in Canada? I have emailed/faxed resumes for the past 2 years and have received about 5 response letters, i have placed follow up calls etc. And i am not contacting D1 schools either, 95% of the resumes i have sent out have been to D3 schools with a few D2 sprinkled in. I know to an extent its who you know but WHAT DOES A GUY HAVE TO DO?
