Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches, we are having trouble against a team in our league that runs a 6-1 defense. Their line is in what i call a toad stance and they read the shoulders of the offensive line. Their defensive ends are insode shades of the eol. This pretty much means we are covered up without any open gaps. The do not penetrate at all but will move and squeeze. The linebackers are very good at slow playing the qb til the pursuit catches up. They are a half yard deeper than the defensive line. The first year we were able to hurt them with trap and midline but will pinch and crash. We have tried load option but the slow play really messes with us. We do not have extremely fast tailbacks. The secondary is a cover four or rolled three to the strong side. My goal of the off-season is to try and crack this scheme. They were on of the two teams to beat us. The other is in the state championship game. The coach of this team was an assistant in texas and brought this back to our state when he returned home.
Do any of you see this and what would you suggest. I've tried a lot but am open to suggestions.
When we see the 6-1 or pro 4-3. We run mid line. If they have 2i's We tell our guards to block outside, our tackles block outside center on the lb. backside scoop. there is no one in the middle.
Coach Campbell yes I was at Southern Utah then. Seems like forever doesn't it? You have gotten some miles under your built eh Coach Campbell? I know its late but congrats on your job at Victoria. Coach Russell
Coach Campbell, I am currently coaching at Milby High School in Houston. We weren't very good this year but there are signs for improvement. I wish we would have won more games, but we did score a lot more points than they have had in the previous 2 or 3 years. Im AHC/OC
