I have always run inside trap from under center. It is one of my favorite plays because of it's quick hitting action. I have 2 questions: 1) I have always run it with the guard trapping and I know according to the gun manual the tackle does most of the trapping using the black/orange call. Would it be too much of a tendency if I continued to run the short trap with the Guard pulling? I plan on using the Gun about 70% of the time so should i just continue to run the short trap from under center? I really like the tackle trapping on the long trap with the backside read & the counter also.
I ran trap out of gun. Followed traditional trap rules the only thing that was different was timing. What we did was direct snap to the HB. It seemed to time up well instead of trying to hand it off to the ace back.

I read an article where Northwestern runs this play out of the gun. What they do is have the QB take a few quick steps up for the mesh with the RB. This seems to make sense since it would allow the play to hit the point of attack more quickly and also allow the RB to square up to the LOS. Has anyone run it this way?
