This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Gentlemen: I have an outside linebacker, (wil), that psychially is right about there, however, he is like a hyperactive child once the ball is snapped, he is too quick and 9 times out of 10 he just get plain old run by, he does not hear the defensive check-outs. I sthere any thing I can do to help him stay at LBer, I really have limited alternitives. Any suggestions, drills, whatever.
Teach him that agression is good...but lb is all about reacting to the offense..not the snap...in high school our lbs coach ran the motions of the quater back with our linebackers lined up and we had to call out the action...such as pass...run..draw..ect...it really works on your reads and not aggresion.. Once you tame that hyperness youll have an all-city player....
I agree with wack. But before I read his response though, I thought of you possibly running some type of 50 defense and have him raise havoc in both A gaps as the Noseguard.
I must concur. Everytime I have had a LB who was "over-hyper", a good football player but maybe not good in space or whatever, I have moved them to d-line and let them go! This past season had a kid, who had been an average LB, just had no "nose" for the ball that a ILB must have. However, he was our heart and soul and also won the regional 100 meter dash. He had to be on the field. Tried DE in spring, was 1st team all-conference DE this year. I have this same story happen about every 2-3 years!
