Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I always believed that the BEST route in the Joe Gibbs package was when they aligned in "Bunch Right" (for example) & motioned the widest of the 3 receivers (Z) back to a point just outside X (who was in a 6-8 yd split). Z ran a 15 yd "4" (IN) route; X ran the "0" (shallow cross route); "RB" (aligned in the "T" position behind the LT (Weak T) became the 3rd receiver in the "weakside bunch" by running a free release "spot" route at a depth of 4-5 yds (breaking flat vs Man); "Y" (3rd man inside on rt) runs an "Inside 9" (seam) & is the "HOT" receiver because of his inside vertical release; "H" (middle man in Bunch on rt) runs a "7" (corner) route. QB PROGRESSION = from "HOT" (Y) to "X" on shallow cross. They REALLY had success on this!
