This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
If you can cut it back on the inside zone, why run the outside zone as far as blocking goes? If all the outside zone blocking is used for is the cutback, why not just block using the near ear all the time on zone plays?

The outside zone is just another pay working off the reaction of the LBers. The stretch actually can compliment the hand sweep and plays such as that. Coach CAmpbell
Most coaches over coach the Zone play, hence the players lose the conceptual genius of the play.
it is pretty simple:
Inside Zone play attacks the bubbles (also known as soft spots or chutes) in the interior!
Outside Zone play attacks the bubbles on the perimeter!
The only techique difference (coming from a midwestern coach) is that the inside zone employs a lateral step
while the outside zone employs a bucket step. A reach or pull techique can be substituted for those who's belief systems disregard the bucket step....however these techniques are not nearly as affective as the bucket on the outside zone.
