I was wondering if I can do Strength movements on the same day as my power (speed/dynamic) movements on the same day. I have my routine set up with two strength days and two power/speed days. I'm using the volume protocol that you posted for me earlier. My power/speed workouts are very short and since i'm in my strength block right now, not doing much volume on those two days. The strength days are really full and they can be a test of guts to make it through them on some days. Would it be ok to subtract a few strength exercises and put them into the power/speed day's workout? Also, how much time should I rest between sets? I've been going 60 seconds or less between sets. On the strength days, towards the end of my workouts I'm using such a light weight, from being partially fatigued from the previous lifts, that I don't think it's really helping my strength out that much. I'm sure that is a sign that I need to work on my gpp and overall conditioning a lot too. I also know that it will take my body a little wile to adjust to this new workout. I was spending about 2-3 minutes between sets of my strength exercises, so the shorter rest intervals now have something to do with this also. One more question... I read in an old article of Muscle Media, Evander Hollifield's trainer was interviewed and he talked a lot about Evander's training regimen. He placed a lot of emphasis on the core muscles, especially the abs, but he said it was hard to find a traditional "weightroom" movement to mimic how the abs were used in competition, so he patented this piece of equipment called Ab Angles, and had Evander use it for his ab work. Have you ever used or seen one of these devices? I figured it might be a good investment as it was developed with an athlete in mind, not necessarily a 6 pack in mind. Thanks again for all your help, august is creaping up!
