Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have heard for several years of having an offensive day followed by a defensive day. I would like info about this. Doesn't the timing of your offense suffer? I also know that getting the job done defensively is what counts, but I just can't see taking a day off from running the veer or even the passing game. I know when you split practice (offense and defense in the same day), you may blow a few fuses and possibly end a bit sluggish, but taking time off from one and the other is hard for me to accept. Thanks.
We play Firday nites and practice both offense and defense on Tues. and Wed., with Thurs. as pre-game. When we practice defense, there is always a 10-min. individual period. After that things vary. We might have a long combo period (really a 1/2 line period) and a shorter team period, or it will be vice versa. Sometimes we will have a perimeter/7on7 perioid during the 1/2line period. Offensively we have an individual period (10-15 min), then an inside run (while QB and WR's are doing passing. We will then switch the back and receivers for a second inside run (while QB and WR's are doing passing. We then go to team offense. All combo and team period are scripted.
Coach, During spring and summer we go offensive one day then defense the next day. With each day ending with a team review. So if it were a defensive a day we would end the practice with team O, perfect plays etc... We will also do offensive and defensive 7 on 7 each day. Once we get to fall games. We will have an offensive day but still practice defense that day. 2 hours of offense 1 hour of defense ect.... PG
