I have a girl who powerlifts, she is about 120 pounds and can squat 300 pounds. The problem is her deadlift. She is real solid at the bottom of the lift, but at the finish she struggles. Her best lift is about 245. She uses the sumo technique to dead lift. Any thoughts on how to improve her lifting? I cycle her through cleans, goodmornings, straight leg DL, dead lift finishes in the squat rack, squats, box squats, front squats, overhead squats, one legged squats, leg extensions, leg curls, lunges and a few others. Thanks any help is appreciated.
Although she has a pretty good squat, she sounds like she is still fairly weak in the glutes. I would continue attacking the posterior chain and also work on a variety of pin pulls (deadlift lockouts). Either way, to be a 120 lb. female and squatting 300 is pretty darn impressive.
