Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We spoke at the clinic in Chicago this weekend. We have always used a fan scheme (near ear philosophy) to block midline and double dive. We tell our kids that the read key stinks so block away from the stinky kid. At the clinic, you talked about scooping the backside(zone principles) why have you choosen to go that route. I guess that my only reason is that, well that's how I learned it. I always worried about a backside end being able to catch the thing from behind the other way, any thoughts or tips?

Coach good to hear from you. I also zone block everything backside and will always block the backside end in fear of being able to run the play down from the backside. Glad you have come to our site. Coach CAmpbell
The QB reads the 3 tech while meshing with FB. If the 3 tech squeezes, QB pulls, works down the line and gives the ball to the TB. If the 3 tech plays upfield, QB gives to fullback. If possible, you want to continue down the line and fake TB. The Falcon scheme is a great scheme to get the TB the football with a lead blocker on the SAM LB.

Coach Vint hope you're doing well think of you often and sorry we haven't visited lately. Good luck with you talk in Atlantic City the coaches there will certainly benefit from your presentation. Keep up the great job. Coach CAmpbell
What is the Falcon Scheme? I am a huge "double dive" (we call it "Belly", but it's all the same) coach. We have always base-blocked it, but I am looking to run it as a mid-line option this season.
Coach Campbell, Hopefully we'll be able to get together soon. I'll see Coach Lansdell this week in Parsippanny.
We run the falcon from a trips bunch look with one back in the backfield. We read the 3 tech for our mesh with the FB. Our TB is 1 x 1 from the TE and one snap, he steps back, and runs through the B Gap. I'll show video on this in Atlantic City. Also a great play from the stack I as you get your second back leading the TB. This becomes a great way to run an Iso play without blocking the 3 tech.

Hey Coaches (Campbell, Vint, Holtz, etc): When you run this reading belly/double dive, does the QB read the HB/TB dive also with the option to take off around the end as in the QB Belly? Do you guys think this play can be taught to youth as CYFL (Dave Hartman) has been able to teach midline to 10-12 year olds? Greg B the amature from Powhatan VA
