This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I run an I (& staggered I) formation with a pro-set or twins. We run FB dive, Iso, Power, TB Trap, FB Trap, Counter Tre, and Sweep. We were very successful last year (8-0 at the JV level). I am not going to have the athletes I had last year, but I think I can still run this offense. Is there anyone out there that runs this offense, but also runs the one back inside/outside zone. Do you think that the philosophies are so different that they don't belong in the same playbook, or can they coexist (with good teaching)?
We are running the IS and OS zone from the I and offset I. We run our zone play with the FB leading, and with the fullback blocking backside DE. The great thing about the zone play is that you can get every defender accounted for. Your backs must have good vision and good feet because the play can hit on 3 different tracks. We like the zone from two backs as well as we like the zone from a one back set.
we have our offset back, to the opposite side of the tight end. we then (and this is real simple), give our fb the same responsibility as the tight end would have. if it's inside zone to his side, he has the de/olb depending on the read. when we put this in, the fb had trouble getting there, but after we repped the heck out of it, he got better, and it opened up some other things.
