Thanks for the help on my topic stick. Wake Forest runs a lot of the orbit sweep series. In fact, that's what they call it and maybe even where you heard of it. They use it very well. The clinic at Wake Forest last year was very good, and they spent two whole sessions on their entire orbit sweep package. They would be very good people to sit down and discuss it with.
Guess I'll find out Saturday. The OC is speaking at the Lone Star Clinic in College Station. It looks to be a great offensive clinic. Every offensive coach is speaking on an aspect of the gun or 0/1 back runs and passes and blocking. It is going to be very interesting. Especially for someone who is just now getting involved in the type of offense.
Actually Wake Forest has a few pages in one of the Nike Coach of the Year Manuals so you are right that is where I got the name. Almost all of the Pro's and a lot of colleges are running this now. I know Minn., Wake, Clemson etc are. It is where the slot comes in motion at an aiming point of I think where the tailback's feet are. The Tailback Runs the inside zone and the slot back runs the reverse. It is just another way to hold the backside defensive end like you would with the boot etc.
O.K. I understand now. I wasn't sure if it was the same as the fly sweep or not. I have seen it run before. Slower developing isn't it? What advantage do you have running this as oppossed to the fly sweep? Just curious.
