Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What kinds of off-season development programs do you put your QB's through to help develop their mental and physical skills? We do Bigger Faster Stronger for a strength training component, and we have our base winter agility program (jump rope, dot drills, stair running, shuttle run, and so forth), but I'd like to put a special program together for the QB's. I'd like to focus on fundamentals, mechanics, and the "mental aspect" of the game.
What are your suggestions and what has worked well for you in the past?
I have made skill and drills videos in the past. We run option and sprnit out passing so we need our qbs to have their foot skills ready for camp. the films have included 5 -7 drills and the base steps for our midline. veer, speed op, and counter steps. the conclusion of the films include a chalk talk reviewing how we count the defense.
"The Complete Quarterback" is a generic teaching tool to prepare quarterbacks in the off-season. We meet with our quarteracks for 1-hour in the mornings each week. We go from Quarterback Basics, to Defense 101, and then to skills. We will throw a simulated 7 on 7 versus animated fronts and coverages in the off-season. Finally, we have our quarterbacks throw 2 times a week to "pretty ball" warm-up. This is a series of warm-up drills that are designed to focus on the QB's mechanics. Then in March, the QBs throw from about 90 minutes on Sundays.

Thank you. I had the opportunity to hear you speak on "Gun Offense" at the Boston Glazier Clinic. I spoke to you briefly and bought your "Complete Offense" manual, and I must say it has given me some new ideas for our offense, particularly our QB reads in the 300 and 500 game, and also in general offensive organization. I was not there on Sunday, but I understand another assistant from our staff purchased "The Complete Quarterback" from you after your session. I am really looking forward to seeing what materials are in that kit! I'm also interested in the new "Ultimate Offensive Playbook". I might have to check that out when I get some more dough in the billfold..hehe!
Anyway, thanks again and best of luck this off-season.
Coach Kramer,
Thank you for your response. We have been tinkering with making "training videos" as well. We'll have to see how it goes.
Thank you for the kind words. Both Coach CAmpbell and I feel priviledge to speak at clinics. We appreciate all of the coaches that listen to us, and are willing to spend as much time after sessions talking football.

At what level do you and Coach Campbell coach? Are you High School level or above? I, too, have coached for many years a concept that I have always called "The Complete Quarterback"and enjoy very much your comments on your techniques and drills, etc. Were you a QB, and if so, who did you play for an what offenses have you ran as a player? I know that your office is in California, as I tried to catch you the other day by phone but you were not in. Did you play and coach in Cal.? I coached up around the Fresno area when Coach Sweeny was the HC at Fresno State. I adopted a very good game planning skill from him called "Must runs and must passes" that have served me well over the years. If you have time, no big rush, appreciate your getting back to me on my questions.
Sincere Thanks, Coach Easton

Coach Easton I coach at a large 5-A high school in Texas and I'm orginally from Northern, California. Appreciate you coming to our site. Coach CAmpbell
Coach Campbell, I'm from Florida and have coached here in the south(now living in South Carolina), up North and in California. Find Texas Football right up there with the elite on the HS level. Thanks for your answer to my questions. I am enjoying the board and the multi-faceted questions from all the guys. Good luck with your Summer program and the upcoming season. Coach Easton

Coach Lyle, Thanks for both of your responses today! Agree with you have to coach what you feel comfortable with,100%. You make a very sound case for the line of sight philosophy! Sure hope you did not feel as though I was being contentious, just wanted to get your feelings. Knowing that you are in Cal, my reason for asking about where you played, etc. was to discern what part of the state you played in. I think I had told you I had coached up around the Fresno area when Coach Sweeny was there. Looking forward to your future posts on the board.
