Hi Im derek a freshmen in high school and last season I had a lot of trouble blocking the defensive end out on a sweep or a toss...what can i do to be more effective on these such blocks?

Derek if you are trying to reach the defensive end with the sweep then use what I call a drop step and reach the playside jersey number (circle the wagons) Coach CAmpbell
Just try to get your head across his body and work to get the rest of your body in position to get yourself in front of him and the ball. You could also try to cut him. If it is a toss and you can get your man to the ground your back might have enough time to get outside before the DE can make a play.
