when protecting vs a 50 front, should the ps tackle take the 5 tech and the guard drop to pick up the 9? is this taught as a double read for the guard to look lber to 9 tech, or does the fb take ps backer all the way? also, if a 5-9 to both sides, do you have two double reads going on?

cOACH VS THE 50 FRONT AND NO BACK PROTECTION THEN DOUBLE READ THE INSIDE BACKERS WITH THE GUARDS TO OUTSIDE 9 TECH.'S BUILD THE PROTECTION OFF OF BOB. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WANT WITH THE BACK'S, ONE OR 2 STAYING IN WITH ONE ON A POSSIBLE READ OUT. cOACH CAMPBELL
in most cases we will keep in just one back for protection with the other back on a route or formationed out somewhere. so then, if we were in I-right and the tb was sent on route w/no protection responsibilities, should the fb follow his normal rule and help out to the strong side?

Coach the fullback vs the 50 would have the outside invert strong with the uncovered guard towards the openside being with a double read to backside backer to outside invert weak. Coach CAmpbell
by outside invert strong and weak, are you referring to the 9 techs? so, vs a straight 50 the fb takes the strong 9 and the ps uncovered guard only has to worry about the ps backer. does he help the center on the nose with eyes to the backer? also, if facing a weak eagled 50 where the bs g and t are covered up, does the c and ps guard take nose to bs backer with the fb double reading ps backer to 9 tech on the strong side?

Coach you're right on by the protection vs the weak eagle or under front as you mentioned the center and callside uncovered guard would read the 1 tech. to backside lber to invert. The fullback is also in a double read mode with eyes on playside backer to outside 9 tech. (invert) Coach Campbell
