Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach, We see 2 different types of inside zone. We see one that starts off like a double team. The other we see is a stretch base inside zone. What is giving you the problem? Cut-back? d-line? lb's? PG
Coach, When you play the zone make sure your COBRA (cut-back, bootbeg, reverse) player understands that zone running teams have reads for cut-back, be it a d-line or a LB that running back always has a 2 way go and your COBRA man has to be ready to fill any windows that open backside. We tell our guy he has to check for not only rb but any window that will open we do not pass up any windows.
make sure your backside de is not fllying up field. Have him crash down hard sometimes to stop cutback and make sure now your original COBRA player has QB on waggle..
If your d-line is not very good make sure they grap and not let those o-linemen to the next level. We have d-lineman hold us and turn our o-lineman so they can't come off. PGOLLA
hawk, as always, is right on. the thing we like to emphasize is to our dl not to get way upfield. we teach 1 yard into the backfield and that's it. obviously, at times they'll get deeper than that, but if they're shooting for only 1 yard, they don't end up 7 yards deep and opening up cutback lanes.
