Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Against the front you mentioned, we would rather run inside veer or midline. We are an outside veer team, but we would check out of the play against this look.
We will run g-belly to this front with the tight end step blocking around the 7 tech to the inside lb. We really like running g-belly load option to this side with the te down on the 7 and the guard and fullback leading for the QB.
We also like to run outside veer versus the 4-3 defense with a 3 and a 9 technique. We Combo G and T to the Mike LB. Our TE takes an inside release to Sam. We end up getting some good seams for the dive. Basically, we like outside veer against any defense that does not have a 7 technique. If we have outside veer called and the defense lines up with a 7 technique, our QB will check to Sweep or Inside Veer. We usually pair Outside Veer with the Sweep.
