Coach with the drop step the Tailback on the snap of the ball will drop step with his playside foot which allows him to get the ball deeper from the QB this allows him to read the Lbers and his cuts easier than running at the LOS immediately (drop step to gain vision) The crossover step his his second step which squares his shoulder to the LOS.
