Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have just accepted my 1st HC position. I have been a DC for one of the most powerful programs in our classification. The school I am going to has not won more than 2 games in a single season for the last 8 years. All the coaches that are on staff have been there for a while or they are new to the program within the last 2-3 years. My question is how do you determine who to keep and who to cut?
Do any of you with this kind of experience think that I should give them a chance for a year and then evaluate? I really need some help with this one, I want to be fair but I also want to turn the program around.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I think before you can consider whether or not to keep or cut, you should do two things. First, I would talk to the remaining members of the staff to determine if they are compatible with your coaching philosophy. Second, I would consider who you would replace the remaining coaches with if you decide to cut them loose. If the replacements are a better fit, then make the move. I do think there is merit to keeping at least one member of the previous staff in place for continuity.
My advice: Clean house and bring those in who are loyal to you. This is what I did my first year, and it has saved me a lot of aggravation now and in the future.
