Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What are some of your favorite ways to attack a 4-2 out of a spread set? G in 2 tech with stacked backers and T in 5's. Ends dropped off covering the uncovered recievers.

Coach, Are the Noses in a 2i or a head-up 2-tech? If they are in a 2i, then you can run any number of plays from what we call our chip series. Remeber, we are fully gun.
PT & PG - Chip (vs.3 or 2 tech, they double and work to Mike) ( vs. 1 or 2i, the guard blocks down, tackle steps down with inside foot, and works to Mike)
C-Blocks back
BG-Pulls and Hugs (stays on track if no scraping Mike, looking for OLB)
BT- Gap / Hinge (Steps into B Gap, punches, and rides 5 upfield)
We do a # of things to the end: Option him, Shuttle him, Kick him with the FB, or we call Trade, and the BG kicks, and the FB hugs and stays on track.
If your PT can't get to the playside backer because he has to double the 2, then let him work to the backside ILB. If this is the case, try trips to the field, with a wide out on the short side. Then run any plays you want out of the chip series, but your 'hugger' will have to get the playside ILB, and you will have to run your QB.
I'm assuming this whole time that they are playing three against you, and trips is the only way to remove the playside end. If they are playing Cov 2 against you, and the end is walking out on your # 2, then I would look to using an H-back type like we do. Our FB is really a utility back, and we motion him from side to side, giving him good angles to 'kick', or 'trade'.
Vs. 2 try this Try this: I wide into the boundary, and 2 to the field. FB 1 and 1 off the boundary tackle. QB in gun and Tail behind the tackle to the wide side. Run Chip series to the right, but with TRADE. Have tail take his usual counter steps to the left (open, over, plant), get the ball from the QB and head down hill to the right.
CHIP TRADE: PT-Chip Down PG-Chip Down C-Block Back BG- Kick (Trade) BT-Gap/Hinge FB-Hug (Trade)
The Chip Series should work well with any counter action, espiecially if you run some sort of zone.
