Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
1. "Rip Clean" - I do a Rip Drill nearly everyday with the LB's in which they start by punching downhill in the direction of flow and rip through the block they encounter and make a form tackle. On the rip we emphasize dipping the near shoulder and violently ripping through any trash, and finishing the rip with the fist above the head. It is explained that the LB's will usually rip through blocks versus fast flow where the ball is being run to the outside.
2. "Stick him in the hole" - In this situation the LB encounters the locker at more of a straight ahead angle, or tite flow, and must maintain an approximate shoulder with base, shoot his hands inside on the blocker, seperate , and roll his hips. Press the blocker back into the hole.
Also remember to keep your inside foot up when taking on a block. If you make contact with your near shoulder and your far leg is forward you can be thrown off balance easily. If your inside arm and inside foot are up on contact you are more solid in the hole.

Remember also whenevr playing the cut block and or any block that attempts to knock you off your feet, meet pressure at pressures level. Must sink at the hips to meet the pressure at its level, keeps from becoming a waist bender. Coach CAmpbell
