Tight End bases the 9 tech the tackle bases the 5 tech. and you get a fast Ace Ram to the Playside LBer. you get a Duece by the backside guard and tackle on the 3 tech to the backside LBer. The QB will boot the backside 5 tech. The back will probably cut this play back behind the backside 3 tech, if it doesn't hit in the playside B gap. Coach CAmpbell
No, I was referring to Sam playing in the b-gap because you have a 9, 5 and 1 strong. So the center and strongside OG will combo the 1 tech to sam in the playside b-gap correct?
If so, is that why it is called a fast ace ram combo because the playside OG must rotate fast to pick up the sam in the playside b-gap?

Coach the playside Backer is also known as a mike backer and yes whenever an offensive lineman has a frontside backer his combo becomes fast and normally the only thing he will do for the Ace combo is a fast hand check. Coach CAmpbell
Oh, I see. I think I was looking at this defense from a 5-2 perspective instead of a 4-3 look. If in the 4-3, sam is up on the TE, DE is in a 5, DT is in a 1, DT weak is in a 3 and DE weak is in a 5.
But the same fast ace ram holds true in that the center and playside OG will combo the 1 tech and the OG will have to fast rotate to get to mike.
Would the same thing happen with the deuce combo backside on the 3 tech from the OG and OT. Does the OG have to fast release as well on the will linebacker?
Can you please explain fast ROTATING and slow ROTATING?
Does fast rotate mean they have to pick up a linebacker to the playside of the combo and slow rotate mean they have to pick up a linebacker to the backside of the combo?
What kind of blocking, fast or slow, would be used from a one back offense against a 3-1 set? So you would trey combo the 7 tech with TE and OT, you would base the 3 tech with the OG and the center and backside OG would ace combo the 1 tech. Backside OT would go out for will with the QB booting the backside 5 tech.
So, the trey combo on the 7 would push to the sam. The ace combo on the 1 tech backside would push to the mike. Would those be fast rotating or slow rotating?

Coach H if the Trey combo goes after sam and hes out side the box it would be a full zone, If the Trey is staying inside the box and the trey is working to MIKE and the ball is being tossed then it would be a fast trey, if the ball is running outside the hip of the guard but inside the hip of the tight end it would be slow trey, if the ball is being handed behind the guared then the blocks would go vertical.
