Coaches if any of you are interested in learning the gun running game which adds new deminsions to your offense I would be glad to help. Coach CAmpbell
I would love to be able to run from the gun to add a new wrinkle. However, I'm still trying to get my tackles and guards to understand when to duece, ace, combo, etc. and my QB when to check to midline and opposite call toss! If I try to give them something else to do, I think they'll blow a gasket!
Coach Campbell, In a one back gun, have you ever ran QB ISo/Follow plays? It has just been in practice for us, but we have run follows from the gun and they look good. Example, if we have a 3 technique, we call 10 Follow. (THis is simpler for our line to remember.) We kick the 3 with PSG and lead the back on MLB. I was just curious if you or anyone has used this in a game and how it worked.

Coach good to hear from you. Indeed its a good play and easy concept for your offensive line, using the same ISO rules. Are you doing any two back gun? Look forward to hearing from you again. Coach CAmpbell

Coach the Tackle Trap from two backs. This gives you trap from the tackle to one side with speed option out the other side according to the reaction of the 5 tech. backside. There are several and goods ones that can cause many problems due to the crossing action in the backfield the boot game is excellent also. Coach CAmpbell
The iso pop is great from the two back gun Coach Campbell! You were a genius with this play. The crazy option is also very good. We are running speed and load as well. We also run inside read, tackle trap read, and iso read. All are great plays for accounting for all defenders.
We use our I formation rules when running load from the gun. We run the load towards a 1-5-9 to the tight side. To the open side, we run load to a 4i. Vs. a 1-5 to the open side we run crazy option or inside read. We want to keep the concepts the same from the two back gun and the I formation.

Coach, when you run load from gun, do you pull the backside guard? This is what we do, and it helps when 5 widens (keep) and will replaces inside. Pulling guard lights up WILL. We block it the same way as you would power, but FB leads on outside backer/force, instead of kicking end.
