any of you guys see Iowa state and the new counter read they use.? what they do is employ the counter read from shot gun set but they bring a rec in motion and he becomes the pitchman as they move to the second level. very interesting stuff.

airman, we've been doing this with great success both with counter and with inside zone, only from gun split back. Like you, we get cover 2 (our passing is very effective also), so we run counter or inside zone one way, and loop the opposite back around like the receiver would in the play you are describing. Works like a charm. If you ever decide to go to 2 back, gun, 3 wr, write me and I'll fax our run game to you....simple....explosive. The only blocking schemes we use are zone (inside, pitch, blast, zone read, stretch (seldom)), chip (TB power, QB power, TB counter with TB working from either side, QB counter, Speed option, Triple, Shovel, and Crazy option), trap (FB, QB), Draw (TB Lead, QB), and we run a QB Iso with base blocking (Iso is averaging 17 yds so far in 2 games!)
