Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I like the "load" option to the tight end, though we slot the tight end. Many people believe that they can combo with the tackle/tight end to the "4" and stacked linebacker. I do not subscribe to that theory. We believe that you must combo to a player aligned more than one player removed. As such, we slot the tight end to block the stacked linebacker. The fullback blocks ("loads") the free safety who is the alley player, while the corner stalks or runs off the corner depending upon coverage. The QB will option the outside invert (many call the "spur") heading downhill at the inside jersey number.
Consider running this from "gun split".

DO YOU HAVE TO SLOT THE TE TO BLOCK THE STACK, OR DO YOU DO THAT TO KEEP HIS COMBO RULES WITH THE TACKLE INTACT? JUST WONDERING IF YOU COULD JUST GAME PLAN THE TE TO BLOCK STACK AND TACKLE TO TAKE DOWN MAN?
We would game plan; i.e., challenge our tackles to defeat their defender. However, some teams may slant or align in 5's. If this is the case, we may motion with a "jack" fold - tight end on the tackle with the tackle pulling around. We can also align in trips, as such by putting the fullback outside, he can still load the free safety, but the 30 stack must decide how to align, either by bumping the inside linebackers, or staying base.

COULDN'T THE BUMP-WALL VEER SCHEME BE GOOD. I ALSO THINK THE JILL SCHEME WITH THE TE ON THE STACK AND THE TACKLE ON THE INVERT COULD BE GOOD. ANY IDEAS?

vs the stack slot the TE and then start to pair the openside load with inside veer according to the way the defensive lineman over the tackles align. Coach CAmpbell
