Here is the question I have on the inside zone. I understand the landmarks that are used for inside zone blocking but which do you guys feel is more important when running the inside zone, stretching or vertically pushing?
I know these are two of the ways to run this play but give me some of your thoughts on this.

Coach with a one back scheme take your push as a vertical stretch, if using 2 backs use split flow and take your push vertically. There are 8 different deameanors for pushing the zone concpts each designed with different footwork in mind and each with possible mesh points for the hand off and or toss. Coach CAmpbell

Coach the 8 different schemes are based upon exchange points between the QB and the running back. The 8 different schemes works of of different initial steps by your offensive line. The wider the ball is delivered the more dropstep that is used by the oline, the tighter the deliver the more vertical the push goes. Coach CAmpbell
Does it take to long or can you go over the aiming points of the back and how each coorlates to the wording for the footwork you teach your lineman? What kind of vocabulary do you teach your lineman based on where the back gets the ball?

Coach with the vertical push your running back will dropstep with his playside foot which allows the QB to get the ball to him deeper. By drop stepping the TB it allows him to gain additional vision on the LBers and with the vertical inside push will make his aiming point for the outside hip of the guard. The running back will make his cut according to where the LBer fills. Coach CAmpbell
