Does anyone out there have any cool pre game rituals that gets the fans and players fired up. We are a school of 1200 students and a decent size community but we only averaged 500 fans per game. Now given our team went 0 -10 so there wasn't alot to cheer about but something has to be done.

High school coach wanting to gain as much info on as many topics as possible because I hope to be a head coach in the near future and I want to be a nationally known name one day
I went to a Mega Clinic this past off-season and heard a coach present on this topic. He bought a small car port (cost about $150) and a smoke maker ($200 +/-$$). He set it up in the end zone. Players in the carport jumping screaming and smoke seeping out of the cracks....unzip the car port and hear they come. He said it sounded corny to adults, but his team loved it and the little kids can't wait to run through the smoke.
How do people organize their pre-game for Saturday afternoons....say 1:00 game We will have a breakfast as a team. When should special teams go out? Thanks DC
Sat. afternoon starting time makes me think youth football correct? 30-40 minutes before your kickoff should be adequate for your guys special teams, depending upon your degree of sophistication for the rest of your pregame routine. Time it and see how long it takes them to stretch, to go through the kicking game, etc. and whatever you want them to accomplish in pregame. Depending upon the age group, these things vary. Just work on streamlining this segment, time it, and go from there.
