Well we dont have a huge school, but we have a great program that has produced 8 state title since 1983, and we are the odds on favorite to get number 9 this year.
Anyway we usually have about anywhere from 52-65 players in our sophomore to senior classes. Our class sizes range usually from 17-22 but are usually at 19-20.
Our strongest players are usually at about 315 on bench at the start of their senior year. Our average bench press for our senior class is usually around 240, and we have alot of guys in the 250-270 range, and we usually have 2-3 linemen or possibly LB's in the 290+ range.
As for squat the highest maxes go anywhere from 470-550. The highest I think I know of for a squat was about 570. I dont really know what our average squat for our senior class is, but our better players, and more committed athletes are usually in the 425+ column.
For instance I graduated in 1999 and my max at the start of my senior year was Bench - 335 which was the highest on the team. The next 2 guys were closer to 300, and as for squat I maxed out at 485 which was 3rd on the team, and the highest being 570.
Anyway thats just our program, and we always have a handful of weight room rats.
When we do our lifting periods during the day we have 4 stations. One for Bench, one for squat, one for cleans, and one for plyometrics, and we have a little extra time to do other body parts, but when we organize for weights those are our 4 stations.
"The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender" - V. Lombardi
We are a BFS school and we lift in-season two days a week and in the off-season three days a week. During the off-season we do speed work and plyos on the other two days.
Core Lifts-Bench, Parallel Squat, Dead Lift, Power Clean, Box Squat, Towel Bench Aux. Lifts-Punch Press, Glute Ham, Leg Ext. Leg Curl, Straight Leg Dead Lift, Lunges, Incline Bench, Lat Pulls, Military Press, Neck Iso, and a tricep station. We also do some position specific work, like QB's with stretch chords.
Our top guys usually bench 285 to 315, with one or two at 330. Parallel squat top guys are usually at 425 to 450, Power clean top guys are usually at 245 to 265, and dead lift top guys are usually at 500 to 550. We also test flexibility, agilities, vertical jump, 20 yard time, and 40 yard time.
