Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What's the best way to attack the 5-2 Cover 2? The tackles line up inside eye of tackles and shoot both ways. The bubble seems to be over the guards most of the time and I'm thinking load option is good with a hip to backer block from the TE. Passing wise I like the Go/out combo and the smash or shake. Any other thoughts?
Based on Coach Campbell's invert rules, you would run the load option to the TE side of the formation. Trey block the 5 tech. to the playside LB. Pitch off of the 9 technique.
We also like to run the ISO against the 50 defense. We block out with our guard on the 4 or 5 technique, block out on the 9 tech, with the tackle, and release the TE on the invert. The Center will drive the nose whichever way he wants to go or slant. The FB reads the block on the nose. The FB has the PLAYSIDE LB whichever way the nose goes. If the nose slants away from the play, the FB and TB will stay to the call side. If the nose slants to the call, the FB and TB will cut back behind the Center's block. On the backside, we solid block with tackle on tackle and guard on LB.

Vs a 50 its good to wide slot the tight end and gain a great advatage running the veer to either side, with QBS read cleared up. Also the ISO becomes great also if the end will widen with the slot. Inside ZONE plays are good etc. Coach CAmpbell
