Creating the triangle for pass protection in straight dropback passing game can't be emphasized enough with your offensive linemen. As you install your straight dropback protection schemes, your linemen need to understand their roles in creating the pocket protection for the quarterback. In straight dropback protection the center and both guards are responsible for the depth of the pocket, meaning they must aggressive pass set in order to keep their defenders on the LOS, noot allowing any upfield push by the defender. The guards and center must stay aggressive keeping separation between the quarterback and the defensive fronts, the guards and center are responsible for the depth of the pocket (never compromise the pocket ). Tackles are responsible for the width of the pocket, tackle alsways want to create width between the defenders and the quarterback. Coach CAmpbell

The first and most significant element of pass protection for a lineman is to set quickly ( hammer the nail with the back of the helmet ) in a good position which will allow for the greatest possible means of success and will not allow your quarterback to get touched or sacked, it is important to maintain the 1/2 man advantage from an inside out position. The manner for which pass sets are established varies depending on the alignment and capabilities of the defender. Getting and maintaing proper body and head position is the first basis for getting the job done. There is a spot from which each pass is thrown and it is vital that the offensive line knows where that spot is, so that they may protect the passing spot of the quarterbackuntil the ball is released. It is important to emphasis "Shoulder In The Hole" this keeps a slight lean by the offensive lineman when pass setting, keeps defender from making an inside move. Coach CAmpbell
