Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach Campbell - We are facing this week a defensive front which bases out of a 4-3....will run some weak eagle and 5-2. They like to do alot of line stunts, using E/T and TT twists and bringing a weakside LB'er on occassion. How do you work with your o-line when teaching them how to handle twisting fronts when running the ball. We are ok on pass protection, however I'm a bit concerned about our option game and base run stuff. Appreciate it. pdow
You have to make them stick to their rules. If you do alot of zone blocking, then just have them get to the spot and get who is there, otherwise drill the rules into their head. Whatever they are man on, play side gap, linebacker, etc, etc

Coach because I teach the zone blocking schemes the twist usually don't bother the running game, thats whats so good about the zone concepts because it prepares your kids for worse case senerios. If you are going to get a big dose of this in the passing game I would concentrate on the sprintout game because, if you pull your linemen over then its just like a full zone concept to the sprintout side, uncovered linemen hinge back. One reason I like the option game is that it slows defenses down from running alot of stunts etc, because of option responsibilities. We played a team this past week that leads are conference in defense and thats all they do and we beat them with the option game, for the most part they couldn't be right. Coach CAmpbell
Exactly. Thanks for solidifying my statement coach Campbell. Zone blocking against stunting defenses is easy !!!!. Just get to the spot and smack whoever is there !!!!!!!!!1

Just a follow up.....played #1 ranked team in area...we won 28-7...they did no line stunts and very little blitzing. Most successful running draws, a little veer, belly g, midline, shovel, iso, and counter. Threw the ball about 13 times and hit them big twice on 4 verticals out of doubles set. Option game was ok..should have run more load option, as they played quite a bit of a 50 front with 4 techs....but other stuff was working well. Hope you had a good week. pdow

Coach glad you responded and let us know how things went. We run a hard dose of option and gun runs and because of all the responsiblity assignments, we don,t see much blitzing and if we do we win. Things are going well at this end we are the only undefeated team left in our conference play. Coach CAmpbell
