Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I tell my guys to get down in a position that they dont have to hitch to get going. You see alot of receivers at all levels hitch and then go. I get my guys lower so there is no hitch. Also make sure they have no false step, and their first step forward is with their back foot. I dont want my guys to pick the front foot up and set it back down and then lead with the back foot. So teach them to sink lower so they dont have to hitch, and make sure there are no false steps. Hope that helps

Vinman27; The best advice I can begin with is to make sure you haver a good re4ceiver stance. Just like sprinters in track, the stance is critical to a fast start. Also, know your routes precisely and practice with precision. The absolut best receivers are not always the fastest, but you must work on quickness and cutting drills. Always cut on the proper foot and take proper angles in all your routes. Any time you get a chance watch the pros on TV they are the bet and have the best stances. I could talk for a long time on how to improve your "get-offs" But, practice short starts to begin with, 10's 15's and 20 yd. starts. Be explosive!! Remember to get fast you must practice fast!
Make sure in practice you try to catch every ball thrown to you! If you can touch it you can catch it. Always catch with your hands and try not to let the ball get into your body.
