Does anyone have suggestions on how to incorporate daily speciality periods (kickers kicking, qbs passing for warmup, long snapping etc) within a practice?
We send out our kickers, punters, snappers, QB and centers 15 min. prior to the rest of the team. They will do their stretch warmups prior to the rest of the team coming out. When the rest of the team comes out the specialty are doing their thing. qb/center exchange, etc...

going over practice plan and review of game plan, daily focus, etc..... its only 15 min, so it is goes too fast, I wish we had more time for this phase with the team.

We incorporate specialty period every day. After a warmup, we go immediately to special teams period (usually 15-20 minutes). In pre-season we do a tremendous amount of individual work (receiving punts/kicks; open field tackling; kicking/punting; long snapping; linemen blocks/rush; holders; etc.). As we progress to the season, we install the various teams and continue this throughout the season. We also continue the individual special team period every Monday. We always start our practices off with the special teams, because we want the kids to know how important it is - not as an afterthought or just pre-practice. Just our opinion. tm
On Tues., Wed., and Thurs. the first 10-15 minutes of practice (before we stretch) is devoted to specialties (long snapping, punting, FG/PAT). We go from that period right into FG/PAT for 10 minutes. After we stretch and do some kind of take-off drill, we will go into a team kicking period. In this period we will work two phases of the kicking game. Sometimes we will use the team kicking period to work on individual technique (covering kicks and breaking down), but most days it is a team peiod. On Thurs. (we play Fri. night) we go through a kicking sequence immediately after stretching.
Coach, we do ALL of our special teams the first day of the week. We then will practice them again during our script, which is the fourth and final day of the practice week.

Coach, We work every phase of special teams every day in practice. We will do our warmup/flexibility, the Special Teams, followed by conditioning to start practice each day. By covering each phase daily our players understand how important they are to our success.
