Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We haven't got into line games in the past but I am interested in doing so. One of the reasons we haven't got into them is because we see a fair amount of double tight. I feel confortable with some games between our 3 and 5 techniques but not with a 3 and 7 technique. Does anyone have any games they play with a 7 and 3 tech or would they need to call off the stunt. FYI, our linebackers are over the guards and I would like to remain sound gap wise.
We are a Wide Tackle-6 defense; we like to run line stunts, especially in conjnction with LB or OLB stunts. Here is one of our favorite stunts (to the SE side): DT aligns head-up on OG and goes to B-gap on snap; DE aligns almost head-up on the OT and off the ball, loops behind DT and goes to A-gap. OLB will stunt to near back or deepest back (contain player) or LB will align outside DE and take same course as described for OLB. If we have a quick kid at DT we will send the DE to B-gap; the DT will come behind the DE and contain; and the LB will stunt A-gap.
