Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
always have a quick hitter for a pre snap read. next have play where you make ONE defender make a decision LB or DB if that still doesn't get the ball out have some kind of outlet pass or run like H#$$.
Have had good success with speed option, jet sweep, flanker reverse. BUT, as my spread features trips to the front side, twins to the backside and the QB back at 5-6 yds(never up under center) I look for HIM to do the vast majority of the running. Some by predertermined game planning, but large percentage by reading the defense and letting the PSL horizontal stretching and the post snap vertical stretching have it's deadly effect on the D, creating those running lanes that a QB who can deal can really take advantage of. Our running consists of taking advantage of what the defense gives our QB as he reacts spontaneously, from the spread.

one play i run that creates trouble for the defense is run outside receiver on a fade route down sideline, run inside receiver over middleto get in the way of the linebacker, and then have 3rd receiver, perferbly running back on a bubble route, bubble or fade is always open.
Send your wideout on the trips side on a fade. Have your #2 receiver make a sight adjustment. #3 runs a slant, quick slant, curl to hold the OLB. My favorite sight adjustment route is a 7 (18 yd. post corner or deep out) but have your #2 take what the defense gives him in his adjustment and make them pay for what he sees. If the SS is rolled up and close to take away a run, a 7 is always good. If he is aligned up top in cover 2, a 7yd. outcut run properly will allow your Qb to get the ball away in 2.7 seconds or there abouts into the boundary. First QB read is up top, then from inside out on #2 receiver's defender if in zone, if man read your receiver all the way in all reads. When you verse man, you are attacking a defender, when verses zone you are attacking a specific area of the field.
