I am a sophomore in college at a university in the SEC. I have a passion for football and want to make a career out of coaching. Unfortunately, I have no playing experience beyond middle school. Through much persistence over the last month I have managed to get an interview with the offensive co-coordinator here. I’m interested in obtaining some form of volunteer position. My interview is this week, and I am looking for any advice, thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in advance for the help.

Be honest, be genuine, be enthusiastic, and be willing to do anything they ask of you... if you get the spot, be sure to keep your eyes open.... Oh, I almost forgot. If you are at any other school than Georgia, you better watch out for dem dawgs...
I was in a very similar position as you. I hadn't played since middle school, and I knew this was what I wanted to do. This upcoming season will be my 5th season as an assistant coach. I'm actually in the process of going back to school, so that I can teach as well. The previous coaches are telling you the correct way to go about it. Enthusiasm, loyalty, and the abilities to listen and learn are vital. You also have to want to work hard and teach the kids. If you can get that through to a coach, then you should have oppurtunities.
