Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches what are your alignments to a power i unbalanced set? the unbalance is X "over" in the formation and covers up the TE, however the weak tackle is actually a TE and eligible, any thoughts would be appreciated
Play a 6-2 front(with LB's stacked on player aligned on OT's). Have the C's play man on the SE and the short-side TE. the FS can play 6yds deep in the middle fo the formation, or he can play the powerback man. If the FS is in the middle, coach him up as to whom he has on pass and option.
what would you do alignment wise, play games with the LB and DE stacks? Pinch or Angle? Im wondering what you think. From what ive seen on film they have wide splits (2.5'- 3' ) and run a few different plays. They run a midline dive, a midline QB iso with the power back leading through B gap, and they run a double option outside with the backs keeping their paths similar to those plays described above. They have ran plays weakside a few times, any thoughts or ideas you have would be great.
You can do a ton of things with the DE, LB and OLB. 1-DE pinch, OLB pinch to OT's butt, LB scrapes ouside 2-OLB pinch to OT's butt, DE loop behind him, LB stunt B-gap 3-DE pinch in (or out), LB stunts opposite gap 4-DT scoops to B-gap, DE loops behind him to A-gap 5-Walk the LB into a gap, then have the DE or DT(depending on the gap)stunt to that gap and the LB loops behind the dtunting lineman How is this for starters???
You can play games with the LB's if you are going to keep the FS in the middle at about 6yds. I would not mess around with stunting the LB's into A-gap. If you wnat to stuff A-gap, you can play games with the DT's.
