Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We play a Split 4 and our base alignment is what Coach Campbell would call a 32i. We align in a 7 and a 3 to a "3-man surface" and we align in a 2i and a 5 to a "2-man surface." So when we see double tight, both tackles are in 3 techs and both ends are in 7s.
I just got Coach Campbell's book on the Multiple 40 defense, but he doesn't go into detail about adjusting to 2 tight ends. What do some of you do? Do you check to some sort of 50 front, or do you shift your linemen? Also, what adjustments do you make out of a 4-3 to double tight?
We are a Wide Tackle-6 front. If the offense comes out in a 2-TE/2-back formation, we will stay in our WT6( 2I, 7to TE, wide 5 to SE). However, we will make some kind of adjustment with our secondary. If it is a 2TE/1Back formation, we might stay in our WT6 and run man or man-free, or we might jump into our 4-3 look and play 1/4's pattern-read.
