Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
If you have a dt in a 2 tech and he is slanting to the hip of the tackle but gets double teamed by the guard and tackle (could be a combo block)...what do you tell the dt to do? FYI we don't have great physical specimans at dt...that's part of the reason we usually slant. Also, we have the linebackers stacked over our dt's.
Hey coach, I coach my def. tackles to explode into that off. tackles hip. His hip is your key. Once you read double team pound your knees, and drive. Once you feel your momentum going backwards GET TO THE GROUND. He's still responsible for B gap, he cannot get driven back into the LB's lap.
Coach, When we teach the slant we tell our kids there is no double team. When we slant to the man over and he is coming down at us we attack his upfield shoulder so there is no double team block. Hope this helps. PGOLLA
