Overload Formation on Field Goals

Coach,

we overload to the kickers backside, and have trips set to the front side (2 wings) The angles are longer for the defense to get to the kicker and block the kick. I have been doing this for 8 years and have never had a kick blocked off the edge.

We set ours with the 2 wings (we call them personal protectors) at a 65 degree angle off the ends with a one ft. split. On the snap they both take a drop step, punch the inside threat and reach with the opposite arm to the outside rush, while continuing to drop. In case of a fire call, both ends run speed outs.
