Looking for assistance in rehabbing a hamstring strain. I recently had a student strain a hamstring severly. Background- the kid is an avid lifter, well trained, and is attempting to become more flexible. Anyway, he is in track now and got to our last meet late and failed to warm up sufficiently. Participated in the lung jump and had the hammy pop and swell a considerable amount. This is my first hamstring strain in many years - I attribiute this lack of strains to our use of dynamic flexibility drills and stretches. They do a great job (when the kids actually do it) preventing this type of thing. Any thoughts or ideas on rehab would be helpful.
