Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Hey Option Guys (non-Wing T types)...We run a flexbone type Double Slot and I was wondering...Do any of you run the Jet Sweep? If so, why? How successful has it been for you? I appreciate the input. We are installing the Rocket Toss this year and I like the Jet Sweep but I need some help deciding whether we should burden the kids with another series. We already run Inside/Outside Veer, Belly, Counter Option, TOss, and a few others...
A local team here in Baton Rouge, has had great success with the flex-bone. One of their better plays is the JET SWEEP and then their counter off the JET sweep. The blocking assignment, I feel are very easy to install. It is a full zone, with the line man running on thier tracks, and the play-side slot, doing the same.
Coach, We run the jet sweep from our one back offense, and we really like it alot. Its another way to get the ball into the hands of your athlete's. It's easy to install and you don't have to block everybody. We also run an option play off of the jet sweep. From our Ace set (2 TE's 2 Flankers), Z comes in motion we fake the jet sweep and run lead option away to the weak side.
I like your "ace" set play with the lead going to the backside, what is your back configuration, "I", split backs, ? I throw a lot out of what your calling your Ace inside the 20 ( speed outs by the tights, quick slants, curls, flags, post corners by the wideouts for the most part.
Coach Easton PS: Who was your HC at the Citadel(I'm assuming you played their with your moniker)? I know Charlie Taffe and Al Semonson quite well, they were there in the late 80's and early 90"s. They are at Maryland now, with Ralph Pridgen. Charlie helped build the bone at Army that was so successful for them for awhile, just before going to the HC job at Citadel.
