Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
For you zone blocking coaches how do you block your zone plays when you see teams who will put a 1 or 2i tech. and 7 tech. as the down linemen to the TE side?? What is this front called anyway? I also don't understand why defenses would use it as it exposes the linebackers. Too big of a bubble.
Your center and PS Guard would zone combo the 1/2I to the inside lber and the PS Tackle and TE would zone combo the 7 to the outside lber.
I would run the stretch play vs this look, the angles are great.
TE down block the 7 PS Tackle skip pull and block outside lber PS Guard down block the 1/2I Center skip pull and read the inside lber, mirror him and attack him

Yeah that is what I was thinking and how I would block inside zone, usually when I go 2 TE 1 back I will see that look to one side and have the QB check the play to that side because of the favorable blocking angles.
Did you happen to send the Alex Gibbs tape out yet? If so when?

Coach Joe with inside shaded defenders a zone play will probably bouce outside especially when running with two backs or a trey formation towards the tight end and or openside. Coach CAmpbell
Would the counter also be an option against the alignment, depending on the other DT alignment?
I know in my playing days we ran 22/23 ISO at the bubble, all day and very successfully against teams that left bubbles that big. I know it might seem like too many 'rear ends' in the whole, but we'd run 'SMOKE" on that too. Smoke was the G cracking down on the 1 tech... and the C folding around... if done once in a blue moon its a real surprise for the DT/NT.
