Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach Vint or anyone else who uses a numbering system for zone blocking, Could you elaborate a little on the count system you mentioned in an old post ? One specific question: Do you still look for double teams even though your playside rules have O-linemen getting playside gap to a numbered defender ? Thanks.
Uncovered lineman are working in combination covered lineman. If the DL over the covered guy stunts inside, the uncoverd lineman would be on him and the covered lineman is up to the next level.

Along the line of what coach Vint is saying find the nearest ear of a down defender and this becomes the landmark for helmet placement by an offensive lineman. Coach CAmpbell
You number from the Center-out. If Center is covered - that man is #0. If he is uncovered - the first man playside is #0 (Center makes a call). Center's blocks #0; On G blocks next out (#1); On T blocks next man out (#2); TE blocks next man out (#3). Now - within those rules - if uncovered, you zone with teammate to playside. If covered, you zone with teammate from backside (unless he is covered too - in which case you MAN block). EVEN THO YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NUMBERED MAN - YOU STRIVE TO GET THE DT THRU ZONE BLOCKING.
