QB would open up at a 45 degree angle with his playside foot. The aiming point for the fullback is the outside hip of the guard. The second step by the QB is into and towards the play called. The second step goes into the LOS this keeps the QB attacking the 5 tech. Keeps QB from bubbling his path. Coach CAmpbell
We point the option instead of reaching it back in the conventional manner as it allows the QB to stay focused on his read without feeling his arms go one way and his head another. In order for the QB not to bubble his path, it is esential to get a downhill surge by the O line so your QB can also attack his read downhill and not parallel to the LOS. just as coach Campbell stated above.

We use a clock like so many others do in teaching our QB's proper steps...with feet at 12 and running inside veer to the right, first step is right foot at 3...second step with left foot is 6 inches inside QB's left hip and should coincide with establishing mesh point....right foot then "roller blades" back toward the left foot and then establish dowhill attack to dive key...read decision must be made before ball clears QB's left leg...jerk ball out if pull read. pdow
