Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches that run the gun, how do you align your running backs? We installed it last year and everyone's heels were at 5 yards from the LOS (i.e. QB, FB, and TB). What would the advantage be of having the QB's heels at 4 1/2 yards and the keeping the backs at 5 yards?
Well if the qb is up further than the backs than the angles the backs take would be different than what you did last year. depending on what type of opition you was running. This could be an advantage or it could hurt you. I beleive that the FB angle ( if you have two backs) would be better, but you have have to work on your timeing with the Pitch back depending on what side you was running( to his side or away from his side)

Coach we put our running backs at 5 yards also with their out side foot aligned on the inside foot of the tackles (landmark) We drop step are running backs with their inside foot to time it all out. Coach Campbell
